Offshore Car Registration
is becoming increasingly popular - especially amongst people who spend a lot
of time in Europe, where it is legal, common and accepted to drive a vehicle
which is registered in another country. Many of our clients also work for
international missions (United Nations etc).
Why would you choose to register your car offshore? In the case of older
or classic cars, it is often due to the vehicle itself, being unable to
comply with local requirements for registration, despite the vehicle being
in safe working condition and with minimal engine emissions. Regulations
in some countries require expensive mechanical and emissions testing and
adaptation, on all imported vehicles prior to registration.
Even more costly in many other jurisdictions are the VAT and/or Import
Duties due on brand new imported vehicles upon first registration.
(For example, Denmark has a 180% luxury tax on all new car registrations).
Cars can be purchased tax free direct from the manufacturers, and often come
with temporary (6-12 month) tax-free registration plates. But what do you do
when those expire? How do you obtain permanent license plates? Car Registration
in one of the two jurisdictions we work with, Cook Islands or Andorra, may be the
perfect solution. |

Whatever the situation, there has to be an easy,
no hassles way to avoid all the unnecessary time and money wasted, just to drive the vehicle of your choice! That’s why we call our company Easy Car Registration. |
Our business started in 2006, registering cars in a tiny island nation in the
South Pacific, the Republic of Vanuatu. Formerly known as the New Hebrides
when it was an Anglo-French Condominium, the island changed its name when
it became independent in 1980. Just North of New Zealand and East of Queensland,
Australia, Vanuatu is a tropical nation with a predominantly Melanesian population
of around 200,000, which is spread through the volcanic chain of islands fringed by
coral reefs and rich blue ocean.
In 2008 the government of Vanautu suspended indefinitely all car, yacht and plane
registrations for non-residents. As an alternative we now offer a similar program
from the Cook Islands

You can read more about Cook Islands here: CIA Factbook – Cook Islands
Cook Islands Vehicle Registration is possible for most
types of passenger vehicles, including small trucks and motorcycles. Requirements
are very simple. The entire procedure may be carried out over the internet, with
the plates being delivered to you by DHL courier.
Vehicles may be registered under your personal name, or under the name of an
offshore company created specially for the purpose (ask us for a quote).
In the latter case, you will receive a document notarized in the Cook Islands,
stating that you are allowed to drive the car anywhere in the world. It will
appear that you are an employee of the Cook Islands Corporation, driving the
company car. |
